The 5 essential aspects of Surya Namaskara

Asanas

There are 12 physical poses that correspond to the 12 phases of the sun in its annual movement. Its realization in a constant rhythmic sequence, reflects the rhythms of the universe; the twenty-four hours of the day, the twelve zodiacal phases of the year and the biorhythms of the body, aligning your geometry with that of the solar system.

Mantras

The vibration produced by chanting the Surya and Beeja mantras during practice has a very powerful and penetrating effect on the mind and body. Accelerating the healing of ailments, providing mental stability and self-control, and dissolving accumulated tensions.

Breathing

The entire sequence of movements and mantras of surya namaskara are synchronized with the breath, with phases of inhalation, exhalation, and retention. Without alignment between these elements, many of the potential benefits do not manifest.

Kshetram

They are the activation points of the body’s chakras. When the mind focuses on them during practice, the chakras are activated and release energy, elevating spiritual awareness and benefitting related physical structures as well.

05.

Chakras

They are the psychic centers located in the subtle dimension of human beings, where energy channels (nadis) are interconnected. Its activation generates kundalini energy, key to the development and deepening of spiritual life.

The Surya Namaskara course was a discovery for me. Getting to know the traditional practice with Prashant was incredible, as I had no idea how complete it was. Before, I did the sun salutation in a mechanical way, focusing on postures and breathing, but I was unaware of other aspects, such as the Surya Mantras, the Bija Mantras, the connection with the chakras and many other details that have enriched our practice. Prashant Pandey

Program Director

Prashant is our yoga teacher trained in the Bihar School of Yoga.

For more than ten years he stayed there, living a pure yogic lifestyle, and studying yoga under the supervision of his Gurú, Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati.

Thanks to his years of experience conducting yoga and meditation sessions, he has acquired a profound understanding of human behavior, stress, anxiety, illnesses, and their management.

Luna Solana

Hatha Yoga Teacher

Luna has been practising yoga for more than eleven years. She trained at Kavaalya three years ago and since then she has been teaching Hatha Yoga.

She started practising yoga in the United States when she was 18 years old and tried various styles such as Vinyasa flow, Ashtanga, Bikram and Kundalini, among others, until she specialized in Hatha Yoga.

She has completed the 200h and 300h trainings with Kavaalya, and is currently continuing to train Yoga Nidra, Yin yoga and Surya Namaskara. In addition, she works for the school as a content creator and teaches support classes in the courses.

Luna's style is defined by her natural flow, softness and fluidity in expression and movement, a unique mix she has been influenced by in her career as a yoga teacher.

Can I take the course if I have no experience in yoga?

Yes. It is suitable for beginners.

Who is this program for?

For yoga instructors who want to know in depth one of the best known techniques, and also for those who want to learn a practice to experience this life to its fullest potential.

Can I sign up for the course if I am not very flexible or fit?

Of course, you will see that in a few weeks you will have gained flexibility and above all you will experience a great increase in energy levels and ability to concentrate.

What do I need to have to participate?

What kind of materials are used in the classes?

Video, audio, course manual, presentations, and live group participation.

How will I be evaluated to receive the certificate?

Through live practices and a theoretical questionnaire.

What happens if I miss a live class?

No problem. All the material is recorded and available to play whenever you want and as many times as you want.

Can I do this program with a full-time job?

Absolutely. We designed this program with busy people in mind. We recommend attending as many live classes as possible, to make the experience more intense for you and the whole group, but it is NOT mandatory. That’s why classes are recorded.

What happens if I can't take the exam or I don’t pass?

We will give you the option to try again in the next edition.
